The Middle East is at the center of global events these days and we forget from Sunday School when and where the drama started—Abraham’s sons Ishmael and Isaac. The brave military personnel from my community are right in the middle.

A truly excellent clip from a show that continues to be, in my opinion, one of the best written, best acted, and smartest series on television to date.
The West Wing writers always had their finger on the pulse of the nation. I loved how they were able to craftily expose truths about our country and political system, without appearing too preachy or underhanded.
Dr. Bartlet’s eloquent words here call to light a certain universal truth. We so often focus on the differences between various religions, that we forget about their many similarities, and, in this case, their common origins. All religions at their core are about morality, kindness, and peaceful living. And in that sense, the higher power each of us worship is one in the same.
