If you missed it, 60 Minutes had a great segment last night on one of the sources of the Wall Street Mess. I can believe Washington allow this “side betting.” This video is like “How to be a legal Crook” 101. Unbelievable.

15 seconds in and they already diagnose the problem wrong.
the problem did not begin with the housing market.
it began with the fed
Jesse, I agree with you. The SEC, Congress and my man Bill Clinton open the door wide.
not to mention the central bank. greenspan is the worst hypocrite in this whole issue
I can believe Greenspan did not see this coming; we were all so confident in him that we fell to watch the watcher.
rothbard on greenspan:
“Alan is a long-time member of the famed Trilateral Commission, the Rockefeller-dominated pinnacle of the financial-political power elite in this country. And as he assumes his post as head of the Fed, he leaves his honored place on the board of directors of J.P. Morgan & Co. and Morgan Guaranty Trust. Yes, the Establishment has good reason to sleep soundly with Greenspan at our monetary helm. And as icing on the cake, they know that Greenspan’s “philosophical” Randianism will undoubtedly fool many free market advocates into thinking that a champion of their cause now perches high in the seats of power.”
not everyone trusted him. the federal reserve itself is a corrupt institution and no friend of the free market. instead this corporation seeks to control it.
One good thing that comes from this wall street mess is the new interest people have in the financial industry—it’s not enough to just make money and spend it. The wise person understands all aspects of money.
George W. Frazier, the author of “Success Runs in our Race,” always says that Blacks are the only group that came to America and sought political power before economic power/money. You can make speeches all day but who is at the table when the money is counted.
And yes Jesse, those hush-hush groups really run America and the world but I will not take about them here out of concern that I will look out the window and see a Black SUV parked in the alley.
