The last days of the 2024 presidential campaign are excruciating because Trump and ugliness or American Hope in general are dying the Death Of A Thousand Cuts.

Why did researching Death Of A Thousand Cuts just take me from ancient Asia to singer Taylor Swift.  Death Of A Thousand Cuts (DOATC) is a 10th century method of execution used in China, Vietnam and Korea. The execution involves slowly removing parts of the body with a knife over a period of time. It was reserved for crimes considered especially heinous such as treason.

In modern America, our U.S. Constitution restricts usage of cruel and unusual punishments but politically the hope of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama is entrusted to Vice President Kamala Harris.   But, this isn’t just another presidential election. Oh no. By hook or crook, Donald Trump has taken over the Republican Party and morphed it into his own personal Make America Great Again Movement.  With a Texas size ego and a blatant disregard to the Constitution, Trump seeks to end America as we know it with circus showman P. T. Barnum’s phrase “There’s a sucker born every minute” as his guide.  For the record, I saw this coming and voted in the Republican presidential primary for hopeful conservative Nikki Haley.

Wait a minute…not so fast.  I’m a true American patriot who refuses to give up the fight. With Congressman John Lewis and his friend positive Senator Johnny Isakson in mind, we can dramatically save America by winning Georgia for Harris/Walz and hopefully ultimately winning for ourselves.

First, we must push push push remaining non voters into the polls by emphasizing real kitchen table issues that affect them.  My 20 Cross Generational Issues were written on this blog years ago to stimulate a healthy discussion of public policy in 20 short minutes.  With a week before the election and people currently voting early, we need more than a zillion T.V. ads.

We need A Thousand Cuts in the form of dozens of cookouts, meetups, parties, bar take overs with the purpose of energizing voters.  The central concept is that local trusted leaders and friends are the key to pointing out the importance of voting to support personal opinions on vital issues.  I need to Cash App 100 people having get togethers after high school football Friday night, after choir rehearsal, before college football on Saturday or before pro Football on Sunday afternoon and Monday night.  I would have your pizza delivery cash if you help me deliver (for 20 short minutes) 20 short videos of your people and you discussing issues in a relax setting. We could tip the scales for the election and give ugly politics the Death Of A Thousand Cuts.

Of course, we aren’t talking about literal death. In relationships, this term means something dying slowly over time.  I didn’t know until an hour ago that Taylor Swift has a song called “Death By A Thousand Cuts.”  The experiment known as America isn’t going to die A Death By a Thousand Cuts while we sit around doing nothing.  That would be dishonoring our family members on whose backs this nation was built with blood, sweat and tears.
