Holly: It was good seeing your comment about that campaign video having the vibe of the “I am Malcolm X” part of that film. I was working for a Georgia member of congress when that movie came out and he told me that the film was interesting but long. He said that he had dinner at the mall before the movie started and was hungry again before Malcolm became a Muslim. I would add Doctor Zhivago and Dances With Wolves to my list of long movies….Gone With the Wind, Color Purple….

I found you through Peach Pundit, and I've quite enjoyed the posts and commentary here. This post in particular is very insightful.

I want to agree with Donna that I don't think the Tea Party folks are violent. They feel like they're not represented by "real conservatives." I have no idea how that's possible for the ones that live in Republican House districts in Georgia. Those guys seem to toe the hard right line, no matter what. I'll hold my tongue from further comment on that. As for the Tea Partiers, remember, they can't stand our "liberal" Senators...

Though, Donna, I'd argue that every election is an equally important one to shape the direction of the country - that's why we have them every two years. :-)

D: I know that is true and the T.P. movement in our state has for the most part been civil and actually informative. Debate, it's a good thing.

Great comments again. You know as well as I do that there are extremist in every organization, and that they represent the fringe, not the entire organization.

Most people involved in the tea party effort would never consider civil war an option. They are tired of their politicians not listening to them and will peacfully demonstrate and educate voters so their desired change comes about at the polls.
